The finished size of this snowflake is 7-1/2 inches from point to point, making it one of the most impressive snowflake patterns out there!
There are also instructions included in the pattern for finishing up with a glue-and-water mixture to stiffen the completed snowflake, and you could also sprinkle on some glitter while the water/glue mixture is still wet, in order to add some true bling to the finished snowflake.
This project uses Size 10 doily thread and a Size 8 crochet hook. It is also recommended that you have some somewhat heavier cardboard on hand, for blocking/flattening the finished snowflake. A pizza box would work great. Also recommended is some wax paper or plastic wrap to place between the cardboard and the snowflake, to prevent the snowflake from sticking to the cardboard.
