FREE Face Mask Crochet Pattern! Children and Adult Sizes Included!

Protect your loved ones and everyone they come in contact with! The FREE crochet pattern for this very simple face mask can be worked up very quickly!

The loops on either side of the mask are used to loop around the ears. If you wish to double-up the protection that this mask offers, you can also grab some cloth and sew on an inner lining. Tea towels are suggested, although these are somewhat difficult to breath through. Pillow case cloth can also be used, and it is noted to be much easier to breathe through than the tea towels (and probably much more accessible than the tea towels).

The finished child size mask measures approx. 8 1/4″ wide by 4″ tall (not including ears). The adult size measures approx. 10″ wide by 5″ tall (not including ears).

  1. THANK YOU! Flannel is suggested by many hospital pattern makers for the inner lining. Also. a piece of the blue paper shop towels on a roll would be an excellent filter.

  2. Unlined, these masks will really offer no protection. But sew in a woven cotton or flannel liner and leave the top open to insert a coffee filter, and it will be good. And cute.

    • Hi Cindy! It’s Carrie with Crochet Array, and thanks much for visiting, as well as for your comment! Yes, you are absolutely correct about the liner. It’s going to offer some protection from spread, not like an N95 of course, but at least some protection. Thanks again for visiting, and stay healthy!
